On the September 12-15 in Kharkov the European Challenge Tour – Kharkov Superior Cup took place.
I’ve visited this event as spectator and has some emotions to share:
When someone not well-informed about this sport is coming to the field edge he realize what is happening pretty quick, just need to talk a bit to another viewers. Just need to talk really quiet because players should hear sound of club hitting the ball.
It’s pretty simple: every hole has “planned” amount of hits player should make to put the ball in.
After the starting hit it’s really rare luck to hit in the hole at once (Hole in one), usually ball will fall down somewhere closer or farther from the target – and then player will need to hit from behind the hills
or aiming on the same area with final target
But sometimes it’s hard to put the ball in the hall even from one foot – maybe because of wind or nervousness.. though I think it’s only looks easy when not playing..
The distance between holes is pretty big, during the cup players are walking, not using electric cars
Some of them has an assistant – caddy
After first three days the leader was defined – player from Korea Sihvan Kim
Some of other pretenders were “chasing” him, and if look in future the cup was taken by Daan Huizing
Leading board was updated many times during the day
There was not too much visitors.. maybe because this sport is not so famous yet in Ukraine.
Anyway, it was really interesting for me to visit this very sedate measured sport event
And I’m really glad we have so beautiful golf field in the Superior Golf & Spa Resort
Looking forward for further Cups next years 2014 and 2015!
